Operational Planning Training
"From Concept to Completion: The Art of Operational Control."
Service Description
This intensive 8-hour course delivers a practical framework for operational planning built on the U.S. Army’s proven methodologies — adapted for law enforcement, executive protection, private security, and event operations. Participants will gain the skills to plan, coordinate, and execute complex missions with precision, discipline, and adaptability. The course begins with the Troop Leading Procedures (TLPs) and the five phases of operations — Planning, Ingress, Execution, Egress, and Recovery — then expands into real-world applications relevant across operational environments. Participants will learn to: - Conduct mission analysis and develop clear, actionable plans under time constraints. - Apply the five phases of operations to ensure seamless coordination from preparation to recovery. - Execute effective rehearsals that expose gaps, validate contingencies, and strengthen team confidence. - Understand the balance between full-team and compartmentalized planning, maximizing security and efficiency. - Build command, control, and communication (C3) structures that hold up under pressure. - Conduct risk assessments, intelligence gathering, and advance work to anticipate and mitigate threats. - Integrate Primary, Alternate, Contingency, and Emergency (PACE) planning for communications, logistics, and safety. - Manage operational logistics, including loadouts, movement control, staging, and sustainment. - Lead and document After-Action Reviews (AARs) to capture lessons learned and improve future performance. - Communicate clearly across roles and echelons using proven military and law enforcement planning frameworks. Through structured instruction, scenario-driven exercises, and guided team planning drills, attendees will walk away with a repeatable, mission-ready process that can be scaled to any operation — from tactical deployments and executive movements to high-profile events and emergency response operations. Optional Add-On: An additional training day can be scheduled through our add-on program to provide customized, hands-on assistance with your team’s specific operational planning needs — including event coordination, security operations, and mission rehearsal support.
